Carn Brea Open 2011
Members of St Ives Bay swim club put in a fantastic performance at the Carn Brea open Meet on the 1st Oct . There was strong representation from St Ives and swimmers broke club records, won medals and achieved personal bests.
For the boys, Charlie Coulthard (age 11) achieved 7 Golds including a Competition Best Time for 50m butterfly;Golds for 50 back, 100IM, 200free, 200 breast, 200 back, 50 free and 2 silvers in 200 fly & breaststroke. Zac Broomfield (age 9) won 5 silvers in 50 back, 200 free, 50 breast, 50 fly, 50 free in. Aeden McNamara (age 10) won Gold in 50 back, and 200 back, Bronze 100IM, Bronze 200m free, Bronze 50m free. Reef Slack (age 9) won Silver 100IM and 200m breast, Bronze 50 breast, Bronze 200m free. Liam Randall won Silver in 50m free. Also competing for the boys was Elis Richards (age 9) who achieved a personal best.
For the girls Molly Peters (age 11) won 2 Golds including a Competition Best Time for 200 breast, also Gold in 100m breast, Silver 100fly, Silver 100back, Bronze 200m IM. Keia Wardman (age 12) achieved Gold 200fly, Silver100 free, Silver 100mfly, Bronze 200mfree, Bronze 200m back. Lily Parsons (age 10) won Gold in 50 back, Silver 200m fly, Silver 50fly. Isabelle Hatton (11) won Bronze 200m free. Lucy Brigly (age 12) won Gold for 50m free, Silver 200IM and Bronze 100m back. Ellie Pollock won Gold in 100m fly. Also competing for the girls and putting in some great performances were Steren Mottart, Freya Haase, Mia Ellsmore, Fleur Hatton, Libby Randall, Alice Wakefield, Zara Elliot, Sian Court, Hannah Body, Emma Kendall , Alyssa Andrews and Rebecca Rowe.
